Letter From Winner Jennifer Huyett

Lake Nona Family Dentistry has changed my life for the better. There is no way I will ever be able to repay them for their kindness.

I was a single teenage mother. Knowing that I would never be able to make it without an education, I worked hard to put myself through school. I worked, went to school and took care of my daughter. As trying as it sounds, there are not many things I would change about my life. My daughter is now a beautiful, talented and intelligent 17 year old. I am successful in my career as a school teacher, and was Teacher of the Year for 2011. I have a wonderful little house that is all my own. Despite this, if I could have changed something, it would have been to have taken better care of my teeth. As it always is, it did not seem as big of an issue at the time. My teeth then had become so bad that I became very good at hiding them when I talked to others or laughed. I would try to get small things done here and there, but even having insurance the costs were simply too high. I tried not to think about it.

Then one day as I was sitting at work after school, listening to the radio and trying to get things finished so that I could go home, I heard a commercial for a smile make-over. I do not play the lottery nor do I ever enter contests, but I was so interested to see what might happen I found myself filling out the boxes on the webpage and submitting pictures of my teeth. As soon as I hit the submit button, I teared up. I had not even known how much I wanted it until that point. I hadn't told anyone that I entered either. I felt embarrassed on two levels: one because I was ashamed of my teeth and two was because I was sure it was a scam. I received a phone call a couple days later from Lake Nona Family Dentistry saying that I was one of the finalists. Words cannot describe how it felt. I wanted to win so badly. During the initial exam my blood pressure was elevated because I was so nervous. Part of me already knew, but they confirmed that all of my teeth would need work. A couple days later, I received the call that changed my life forever.

I went from telling no one to yelling it from the mountains. All of my friends and family have been able to see my smile make-over through its stages and are just as amazed as I am. To make the entire situation even more remarkable, Lake Nona Family Dentistry, simply put; is like walking into family. Each member of the Lake Nona Family Dentistry team makes each visit a comfortable and pleasant experience. The smiles and hugs, seeing the affectionate notes they leave for each other, and the way they interact has all contributed to create an atmosphere that any patient would feel comfortable in.

To top off this once in a life time experience, the office then arranged to give me a make-over. Hair, make-up, dress, shoes, all of it! The office's attention to detail with the human touch is evidence of how amazing of a practice Lake Nona Family Dentistry is.

Lake Nona Family Dentistry, thank you from the very bottom of my heart.
